THE GOOD NIGHT
A cold room
With the white light
Of the night
Shining through
A blackened windowpane
Twirling
Rising and falling
In the center of the room
Angel dances
Through shadows
And light
I only watch
As our eyes meet
With every full circle
Clouds
And stars
Hover
In the night sky
Shift
Fade
Then reform
In my mind
As they are
One and the same
A blanket of stillness
Is pulled up over all
A quiet humming is in my ears
White and orange embers are in my heart
Two fingers lightly touch my lips
Before I fall gently
Into the good night
